Russ Roberts is the news and public affairs director for KPVS, KBIG, KAPA, and ESPN Radio. Russ has worked in Hawaii radio since 1967, beginning with a stint at KPOI-FM in Honolulu and several years at the UH-Manoa radio station, KTUH-FM. Following active duty with the U.S. Air Force, Russ joined the Big Island radio scene at KHLO-AM in 1976. Russ has served as the Pacific Radio Group’s Big Island news director since 1995. Russ is a licensed amateur radio operator and enjoys talking with fellow Radio enthusiasts around the world. Russ’s better half is Janice, a recently retired school Librarian. Russ and Janice call Laupahoehoe their home.
